I first saw this awesome extravaganza of Viking smackdowns in 2022 and have returned several times over the years, with it becoming bigger, better and even more action-packed each time.

Mythos Ragnarök is a thrilling fusion of Norse mythology and professional wrestling that delivers a spectacular and unique theatrical experience. Balancing intense physicality with highly entertaining comedy, occasional fourth-wall-breaking fun and some darker, more dramatic moments, the cast gives everything they have to every beat. Standout performances come from Ed Gamester, bringing both humour and pathos to the part of Loki; Miles Ley as the iconic hammer-wielding Thor; and Beau Charles as the invincible Baldr. The whole cast are great, however, and work together to create a high-octane atmosphere. The audience were clearly having a brilliant time, cheering and booing in panto fashion.

Production values have noticeably gone up a notch since I last saw it, with impressive sets and lighting befitting the epic subject matter. The key component of this show has always been the energy and passion of the performances at its heart, even when originally delivered on a small stage with minimal dressing, but it is wonderful to see it in this new, bombastic form.

This is a raw, bold and wildly entertaining must-see for anyone looking for something different at the Fringe.
